About The Weekend

Didje Roots will not run in the way most small festivals do. How this event evolves will be pretty much down to the people who attend, we’re keeping to the “bring what you expect to find” ethos (it’s up to you). What we’re aiming at, and hoping to find, is an enthusiastic approach for the didjeridu, and that anyone attending will at least try one or two of the workshops on offer. This is a great opportunity to learn some new techniques with this very old instrument.

We hope to see a few of the old didje heads back again along with new friends we’ve yet to meet. The ol’ didje family vibe returns!

This first early summer gathering will be for limited number of people, to give us an idea on how things could evolve with future Didje Roots events, and therefore must be booked and paid for in advance…

…NO TICKET, NO ENTRY!!!

We look forward to seeing you there… …drone on!

Anyone wanting to help with performances and/or holding workshops please contact Ant. Also anyone interested in volunteering for crew or gate duty, please contact Ant.

We’ll be using two fields – one for camping and entertainment, and an adjoining field will be used as a car park. The main field is home to “The View”, this is a lovely small barn that opens up completely on one side making for a great performance space. We’ll also use the View for workshops during the daytime.

There will be a large fire pit area which is perfect for acoustic jam sessions after the evenings entertainment has finished.

The Natty Bar will also be along and will have a small marquee attached where you’ll be able to check out ‘Isis’ Open Mic (acoustic) Space’ during the afternoons. If you feel like sharing a rhythm or a song then let her know.

Food & Drink

Meals and refreshments will be available from the side of ‘The View’ barn.
More info, menu, etc., coming soon.

‘The Natty Bar’ will be offering alcohol and soft drinks in the evenings.

Glamping

There will be a few shepherd huts up for hire over the weekend for those not wanting to rough it in a tent – we’ll put up separate booking forms online soon.
