Didj Roots…

Unfortunately after much consideration we’ve decided to cancel the Didje Roots weekend due to lack of interest.

We’d very much like to thank all of those who supported the event by offering performances, workshops, volunteers for crew and stewards. Big thanks to Cathy for offering use of venue.

To the few who did actually buy tickets – big thanks for your support.

Have a great summer and we hope to bump into at least a few of you at one or two festivals this year.

Onwards!

Mouth Bow Harps…

We’re pleased to introduce our new double and single string bow harps. We feel that this new design is a vast improvement on our earlier bows, making the passive voice far more effective and acoustically louder!

Very pleasing to play, well balanced and they really come alive when using a microphone.

We recommend that you experiment with string gauges to find the sound that suits your playing best. (As an example I prefer to use 9 & 24 gauge nickel electric guitar strings on my double harps.)

Price Single harp £50

Double harp £55

Bow harps will be made to your specific request so please contact Ant for further information and to discuss your bow harp order.

The Gathering 2003 – 2016…

After much consideration we have decided to discontinue holding this annual event at Tapeley Park.

The Gathering has been a wonderful 14 year journey, but we feel it has now run it’s natural course. We want to leave it positive rather than letting it turn into something that no longer represents the ethos that it started with.

We never intended to let the weekend become a cheap holiday for people with no real interest in the didjeridu, and feel that it was heading that way.

The time feels absolutely right for an exciting new beginning focusing back on the wonderful instrument that is the didjeridu.

The new event will be at a different venue in Devon, which we have been working towards for quite some time, and hope to announce details soon.

We also still intend to use the first May bank holiday weekend as usual, so please remember to keep those dates free in your diary.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported The Gathering over the past 14 years, whether performers, workshop facilitators, crew or most importantly all of the people that bought tickets and supported the event, without you it would not have happened.

Thank you all very much, you have created very fond memories for a lot of souls!

We’d also like to say a very special thank you to Hector Christie of Tapeley Park for allowing us to hold this great wee event over the years in his stunning country park. We’ve met some incredible characters and had some very special times.

If you love the didjeridu then we hope you are going to enjoy what we do next.

We are looking forward to a new and exciting project, and will keep you posted as things evolve and develop.
See you in 2017
